This is the race I wanted to do last year but it was on a Sunday. Is it kayaking or is it tubes? I thought last year they floated down on tubes

This is actually a different race. Last year's race was the Silver Sage race near Reno, and it was on tubes. This event is up North towards Chico (Jeff's old stomping grounds), and it will be kayaks on the river. It should be a good race.
