January 17th, 2009 will be the second annual Cyclepath Adventure Race, The Path Less Travelled". Cyclepath and its sponsors will be hosting this fun event at beautiful Lake Del Valle just 10 miles south of Livermore. Check it out at: http://www.ebparks.org/parks/del_valle

The course is being designed for the inexperienced racer. We want to encourage the AR community to use this opportunity and share your enthusiasm for the sport by teaming up and racing with a friend, a spouse, a son or a daughter. We all know somebody who has expressed an interest in this sport we all love, this is the course to bring him or her to. The kayaks will be sit-on-top doubles. We will be using standard orienteering flags as the checkpoint markers. The mountain bike will have some elevation gain; and I would suspect a hike with your bike is probable but doable.

So get a team together and register as soon as possible to make sure your team is on the list. We only have fifty spots available and last years event sold out quick. It's sure to be a blast! Between the experience of the event and all the SWAG (stuff we all get), that includes event specific shirts, lunch, beverages, raffle and prizes three deep in three divisions, everyone is sure to get their memories, as well as their monies, worth.
